Exploration Assistant

VACANCY Exploration Assistant JJ Mining (Pty) Ltd has the following vacancies open at our Pensfontein Mine, Postmasburg, Northern Cape on a Fixed Term Agreement basis. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist the Exploration Geologist with exploration and drilling activities. • Assist with the collection, identification, labelling and preparation of geological samples. • Assist with drill-core handling, photography, marking, logging and sampling. • Record drilling and geological information accurately. • Assist with geological field mapping and GPS data collection. • Monitor drill sites and record drilling progress and relevant information. • Maintain the core yard and ensure samples and core are properly stored and organised. • Assist with sample preparation and submission to laboratories. • Maintain exploration equipment and ensure good housekeeping at work areas. REQUIREMENTS • Grade 12 / Matric. • Previous experience in mining, exploration, drilling or geological fieldwork will be advantageous. • Experience in iron-ore exploration will be an advantage.
