Job description
Joel Salabarria is hiring a full-time Facility Maintenance Technician in Austin, Texas. In this on-site role, you will help keep facilities safe, functional, and in good working condition, supporting daily operations and the needs of building occupants.
Responsibilities
- Perform general facility repairs and maintenance to help maintain safe, efficient facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance needs and emergencies at any of SAFE's campuses.
- Use email and the agency's help desk ticket system to manage and track work requests.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and respond respectfully to the cultural differences of the organization's service population and staff.
Required and preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years of general repair experience preferred.
- Universal-level HVAC certification preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English (preferred) or Spanish.
- Basic keyboard and computer skills, including email and help desk ticketing.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid Texas driver's license required. Applicants with an out-of-state license must obtain a Texas license within 90 days of starting employment.
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods; intermittently push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; and work at heights up to 20 feet.
- With reasonable accommodation, able to use tools and machinery and access heights required for facility maintenance.
- May occasionally work in cramped or awkward positions and encounter safety hazards, loud noise, traffic, or inclement weather.
