Job description
Joel Salabarria is hiring a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team in Austin, Texas. This full-time role is vital to maintaining safe, efficient, and well-functioning facilities that support our organization's operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Minimum of 3 years experience in general repairs.
- HVAC Certification at Universal level preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English (preferred) or Spanish.
- Basic computer skills including e-mail and help desk ticket systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergencies across SAFE's campuses in person.
- Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined or awkward spaces and exposure to safety hazards, noise, traffic, and weather conditions.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, machinery, and work at heights up to 20 feet.
- Valid State of Texas Driver's License required (or obtain within 90 days if out-of-state).
- Ability to respect and respond appropriately to cultural differences among staff and service populations.
Compensation: $20 per hour.
This position is not eligible for remote work and requires on-site presence in Austin, TX.
