Job description
About the role
Kpi is hiring a Factory Production Operative in Chester to prepare, assemble, finish, inspect, and pack timber doors and frames.
Responsibilities
- Component preparation: Sand, fill, mask, and prepare timber doors and frames for laminating or painting.
- Product assembly: Put together doorsets, install hinges, locks, and handles, and ensure proper alignment.
- Quality control: Inspect finished goods and reject defects before packaging.
- Machinery operation: Feed raw materials into factory machinery such as edge banders, laminating presses, or timber mill cutters.
- Finishing and spraying: Apply spray finishes, lacquers, stains, or tints to meet custom client order specifications.
- Packing and dispatch: Label, protect, and safely pack completed door units for transit.
Requirements
- Experience in a production role and working with wood is beneficial.
- The listed hours are Monday to Thursday, 07.00 till 16.30, and Friday.
- Employment is permanent.
