Family Support Program Worker - Part-Time

Location: Houston, BC Hours: 22.5 hours per week Schedule: Flexible Houston Community Services is looking to hire a part-time Family Support Program Worker to help strengthen families and support the safety and well-being of children and youth in our community. This role focuses on working directly with families by providing parenting support, guidance, advocacy, and connections to community resources. The worker will meet with parents and caregivers, develop support plans, provide parenting skill-building, and collaborate with community professionals and services providers to help families access the support they need. Key Responsibilities Include: • Meeting with parents/caregivers to assess family needs and risks • Connecting families with community resources and services • Developing and implementing family support or intervention plans • Providing parenting support, skill-building, and education • Offering guidance, problem-solving, and advocacy for families • Collaborating with schools, professionals, and service providers • Maintaining case records and reporting progress as required Qualifications: • Diploma in a related human or social service field, currently pursuing relevant education, or willing to pursue relevant education/training • Experience working with children, youth, and/or families as an asset • Knowledge of family systems, child development, and parenting guidelines • Strong communication, organization, and case management skills • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Experience working with Indigenous families and communities is an asset • Professionalism and confidentiality are essential This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who wants to support local families while continuing to grow their skills and experience in the human services field.
