• Pruning and Plating Blueberries
• Cut out any dead, diseased, or winter-damaged branches right down to the healthy wood or base.
• Trim away any spindly growth close to the ground and branches that cross or rub against each other to improve airflow and sunlight.
• Identify thick, gray, or lichen-covered canes older than 6 years at the base and cut 1 to 3 of them off completely at ground level to make room for new shoots.
• Open up the middle of the bush into an open, vase-like shape.
• Dig holes.
• Plant.
• Mulch and water.
