Role Description We are seeking an aggressive, self-motivated, and highly experienced Freelance Sales Representative to spearhead our advertising and sponsorship initiatives. This is a 20% commission-only, remote role designed for a seasoned closer who thrives on autonomy and wants to build a lucrative book of business leveraging a premium audio brand.
You will be responsible for identifying target brands, pitching decision-makers, and closing programmatic ad slots, host-read endorsements, and overarching season sponsorships.
QualificationsLead Generation: Independently prospect, qualify, and pitch potential brands, agencies, and direct corporate sponsors that align with our audience demographics.
End-to-End Sales: Own the full sales cycle—from the initial cold outreach/call to proposal creation, negotiation, and closing the deal.
Sponsorship Packaging: Creatively package podcast inventory (pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll, social media integrations, and newsletter placements) to maximize revenue per client.
Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with sponsors to ensure long-term renewals and account growth.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)Experience: Ideally around 5 years of experience selling media sponsorships or advertising. Direct experience in the podcast/audio advertising space is preferred but not required.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable picking up the phone and pitching high-level marketing executives and media buyers.
Network: An existing rolodex of brand-direct or ad agency contacts is a major asset.
Compensation:Straight 20% commission on gross sales revenue you bring to the table.
Potential Performance Bonuses: Additional financial milestone bonuses may be available for exceeding target revenue goals (targets to be mutually agreed upon with the right candidate).
