Front-End Manager

About the role

My-China Discount Store, a South African family-owned business that supports 500 local suppliers, requires a Front-End Manager in permanent capacity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the front end, balance books, cash flow and sales team.
• Participate in other business- and team-related tasks.
• Maintain stock levels to meet customer demand and product range.
• Monitor and manage store performance, taking actions that support job objectives and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure smooth cashier operations and that customer service standards are met.
• Ensure cashiers and supervisors follow company procedures and policies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain supplier relationships and support procurement.

Requirements

• Matric with certificates in accounting and consumer service.
• Practical experience in a front-end environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programmes is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, together with presentation abilities.
• Ability to perform tasks including taking and balancing cash.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a retail environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and deliver results within company policy.
