Job description
About the role
Mzansi Career Hub is looking for a friendly, organized and reliable Junior Front Office Administrator to join a medical practice. The role provides general administrative and reception support, assists with patient appointments and enquiries, and helps ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Previous medical administration experience is an advantage but is not essential; training will be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day administrative operations of the medical practice.
- Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, manage the reception area, and ensure patients are attended to appropriately.
- Answer patient enquiries and provide assistance where required.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, send reminders, and assist with rescheduling when necessary.
- Manage and maintain the office calendar, assist with scheduling meetings and managing calendars, and help manage patient flow.
- Type and prepare relevant correspondence and documents for the practice.
- Coordinate and assist with South African medical records and appointments.
- Provide general administrative support to doctors and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
- Assist with other relevant administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Previous administrative, reception or customer service experience is an advantage.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A professional and friendly manner when dealing with patients.
