Job description

About the role

Jobs Bulletin Board is looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Junior Front Office Administrator to join a medical practice. The role provides general administrative and reception support, assists with patient appointments and enquiries, and helps ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Reference No: FOA01.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative operations of the medical practice.
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, manage the reception area, and help ensure patients are attended to appropriately.
  • Answer patient enquiries and provide assistance where required.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, send reminders, and assist with rescheduling when necessary.
  • Manage and maintain the office calendar, assist with scheduling meetings, and help manage patient flow.
  • Type and prepare general correspondence and documents for the practice.
  • Coordinate and assist with standard operating procedures and documents, such as payment processes and patient records.
  • Provide general administrative support to doctors and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain and update patient records, keep information confidential, and handle it appropriately.
  • Assist with other reasonable administrative duties required to support the practice.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Previous administrative, reception or customer service experience is an advantage.
  • Previous medical administration experience is an advantage but is not essential; training will be provided to the right candidate.
