Functional Consultant ERP Data Migration

Functional Consultant – ERP Data MigrationWe are seeking a customer-focused Functional Consultant with strong ERP and data migration experience to help organizations successfully transition from legacy systems to NetSuite. In this role, you will bridge business and technical teams—translating customer processes and data into clear migration requirements, validating outcomes, and guiding customers through a confident go-live.
What You’ll DoLead Functional Discovery and Migration StrategyLead customer workshops to understand legacy ERP systems, business processes, data structures, and migration objectives.Assess source-system readiness and identify data quality risks, gaps, duplicates, and inconsistencies.Define migration scope, priorities, business requirements, and success criteria with customers and project teams.Recommend practical migration approaches, including phased migrations, archival strategies, and data governance practices.Drive Data Analysis and Functional DesignAnalyze legacy ERP, accounting, master, and transactional data to define migration requirements and business impact.Create functional data-mapping specifications between legacy systems and NetSuite.Define business rules for data transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.Partner with Data Engineers and Technical Services teams to ensure migration solutions meet functional and business requirements.Ensure Data Quality and Go-Live ReadinessReview and validate migration outputs for completeness, accuracy, and business usability.Coordinate customer data reviews, resolve discrepancies, and facilitate business signoff.Support reconciliations between legacy systems and NetSuite.Participate in mock migrations, cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-go-live validation.Advise and Partner with CustomersGuide customers on NetSuite data models, data governance, master data management, and long-term data maintenance.Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.Build trusted customer relationships throughout the implementation and migration lifecycle.Collaborate and ImproveWork closely with Functional Consultants, Data Engineers, Technical Services, and Project Managers to deliver successful ERP implementations.Contribute to migration methodologies, templates, documentation, and best practices.Continue developing NetSuite product knowledge and pursue relevant certifications.
What You’ll Bring5+ years of experience in ERP consulting, business analysis, data migration, or ERP implementation.Proven experience preparing, mapping, cleansing, validating, and reconciling data for ERP migrations or implementations.Strong understanding of ERP data structures, including master data, transactional data, accounting data, and core business processes.Experience developing functional data-mapping specifications and translating business requirements into migration rules.Experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to explain complex data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience collaborating across functional and technical project teams in a customer-facing environment.Preferred QualificationsNetSuite implementation, consulting, administration, or migration experience.Experience leading functional data-migration workstreams during ERP implementations.Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and data quality practices.Familiarity with SQL for data analysis and validation.Experience with data migration or integration tools such as Celigo, Dell Boomi, Oracle Data Integrator, Talend, or Informatica.Experience in accounting, finance, supply chain, or operations.NetSuite ERP Consultant, SuiteFoundation, or other Oracle/NetSuite certifications.5+ years of customer-facing consulting experience, with a track record of managing stakeholders and delivering successful ERP projects.EducationBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.
