GCP Data Architect

About the role

Design and lead enterprise-scale data platforms and solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Tasks

• Design and architect enterprise data platforms and end-to-end data solutions on GCP.
• Develop scalable Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Architect solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Dataplex, and BigLake.
• Design batch and real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Define data models, integration patterns, data flows, partitioning, clustering, and performance optimization strategies.
• Design secure GCP architectures incorporating IAM, VPC, encryption, networking, access controls, and security best practices.
• Establish enterprise standards for data governance, metadata management, data lineage, quality, and security.
• Lead migration of legacy/on-premises or AWS/Azure data platforms to GCP.
• Evaluate technology options and provide architecture recommendations based on scalability, performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, DevOps, Data Scientists, Security teams, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout implementation.
• Review existing data platforms and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.

• Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataplex, Cloud Composer/Airflow, and modern data architecture patterns.
