About the role
Heavy Civil | Highway and Roadway Construction
Tasks
- Lead and supervise grading crews on highway and roadway projects.
- Oversee rough grading, finish grading, subgrade preparation, and slope work.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, elevations, and grades.
- Coordinate daily operations with Superintendents, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
- Monitor productivity, quality, safety, and project schedules.
- Ensure crews meet daily production goals while maintaining high safety standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership, training, and support to field personnel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in highway and roadway grading.
- Previous experience as a Grading Foreman, Grade Foreman, Leadman, or similar field leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of grading operations, construction staking, and heavy equipment.
- Experience supervising equipment operators and laborers.
- Ability to read construction plans and understand grades and elevations.
- DOT roadway construction experience preferred.
- HCSS experience is a plus.
