The Head of Project Execution, Rolling Stock North America provides executive leadership for the delivery of the regional rolling stock project portfolio, spanning Light Rail, Locomotives, and Coaches across the USA and Canada.
This leader is accountable for safe, predictable, and financially sound project delivery, ensuring commitments are met across customer, contractual, technical, quality, and commercial dimensions.
The role calls for a senior executive who can lead through complexity, strengthen delivery performance, and build confidence with customers and internal stakeholders in a demanding rail and infrastructure environment.
Working across a global matrix, this position partners closely with project execution, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, quality, commercial, and portfolio and platform teams to align customer commitments, product strategy, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the execution strategy for the North American rolling stock project portfolio, driving performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost, margin, cash flow, and customer outcomes.Serve as the senior escalation point for critical project challenges, including delivery risks, customer issues, technical concerns, supplier constraints, commercial disputes, and cross-functional barriers.Establish disciplined governance across risk, opportunity, change, claims, and performance management to improve delivery predictability and transparency.Represent the business in key customer and stakeholder discussions, building trusted relationships with transit agencies, partners, suppliers, and internal leaders.Partner with global, portfolio, and platform teams to align execution priorities with product strategy, lessons learned, and future business needs.Strengthen organizational capability by leading, developing, and empowering a high-performing, inclusive project execution team.Drive continuous improvement in execution discipline, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration across the portfolio.
Required Experience And Qualifications
Executive or senior leadership experience in project execution, program delivery, portfolio leadership, or similarly complex operations.Proven success leading large, cross-functional teams across project management, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, commissioning, commercial, finance, and customer delivery.Experience managing complex projects with significant technical, contractual, commercial, and customer-facing scope.Strong command of delivery governance, KPI management, risk and opportunity management, scheduling, cost control, change management, and recovery planning.Experience in rail, rolling stock, transportation, infrastructure, manufacturing, mobility, engineering, or another complex industrial environment.Experience working effectively in a matrixed and global business environment.Experience with public agencies, transit authorities, infrastructure owners, or similarly complex customers is preferred.Experience working with portfolio, product, or platform teams is preferred.Familiarity with North American rail or infrastructure markets is desirable.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, project management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Valid authorization to work in the United States is required.
