What You'll Own
Practice Accounting: Keep the books for medical, dental, behavioral health, physical therapy, or veterinary practices, often across multiple locations or entities.Revenue & Deposit Reconciliations: Reconcile insurance payer payments, patient payments, and ERA/EOB data (the payment statements from insurers) against practice management system reports and bank deposits.Patient & Insurance AR: Track AR by payer, record contractual adjustments and write-offs, and support reporting on collections and outstanding balances.Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and prepaids, and do balance sheet reconciliations for a timely, accurate close.Provider Compensation & Payroll: Support provider compensation calculations, payroll entries, and expense allocations across locations.Reporting & Analysis: Prepare financial statements, location-level P&Ls, and KPI reports (collections, revenue per provider, overhead ratios) for US practice owners and finance leads.
What We're Looking For
Healthcare accounting experience: 4+ years of accounting for healthcare practices, groups, healthcare service businesses, or healthcare finance teams in shared services centers.Strong accounting fundamentals: A solid grasp of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and how revenue and adjustments flow into the financial statements.Multi-location experience: Able to manage the books for several locations or entities at once without losing accuracy.Confidentiality and attention to detail: Comfortable handling sensitive financial and patient-related data in line with HIPAA requirements.Strong English communication: Comfortable working directly with US practice owners, office managers, and finance teams.
Good to Have
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct.Familiarity with practice management or EHR systems like athenahealth, Tebra (Kareo), eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft.Experience with private equity-backed healthcare groups, MSOs (management service organizations), or practice roll-ups.Background in US medical billing or revenue cycle management (RCM).A degree in Contaduría Pública or a related field. Contador Privado Incorporado (CPI) or Contador Público Autorizado (CPA) is a plus.
