Job description
Wealing Brothers is seeking a full-time, experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic for its family-owned operation near Fowler and Remington, Indiana. Work on a varied fleet of trucks, trailers, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and other vehicles in a well-equipped, heated shop.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kenworth semi-trucks, tankers, dump trailers, Terra Gator and Oxbo machines, farm equipment, pumps, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and more.
- Perform component removal and replacement, including transmissions, rear ends, engines, and hydraulic pumps. Rebuilding is handled by outside specialists.
- Weld, use a cutting torch, perform minor fabrication, change tires, and tackle varied mechanical challenges.
- Occasionally travel to job sites in Indiana, Illinois, or Michigan for equipment repairs; company service trucks provide transportation.
Qualifications
- Seasoned, well-rounded mechanical experience with heavy trucks and equipment.
- Ability to weld, use a cutting torch, perform minor fabrication, and approach repairs resourcefully.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Schedule and Benefits
- Typically Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Some overtime and occasional Saturdays during the busy spring and fall seasons.
- All tools are provided, including special tools needed for the equipment.
- Heated 20,000-square-foot shop with a service pit.
