About the role
Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has a full-time opportunity for a Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineer/Project Manager in Phoenix. The role provides hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, modeling, and design for public infrastructure and flood control projects in a collaborative team environment.
Employment type: 40 FT hours. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE). A Professional Licensed PE is required; preference is for an engineer licensed in Arizona. Experience in the Phoenix area is desired.
Responsibilities
- Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, and FLO-2D.
- Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting.
- Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for incorporation into design and construction drawings.
- Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Manage data and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Work as a member of a multi-discipline team and mentor EIT staff on hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.
- Conduct site visits and document findings.
- Write and coordinate graphic materials for presentations and documents.
Requirements
- Professional Licensed PE and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
- Minimum 5 years’ drainage engineering.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; works well in a team environment and has thorough attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects.
