Forward Deployed Engineer | Java/JVM, OpenRewrite & AI-Assisted Software Modernization
We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join an international project focused on enterprise software modernization, Java/JVM, OpenRewrite, and AI-assisted development.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, technical execution, customer-facing problem solving, and large-scale code transformation.
You’ll work with enterprise engineering teams that need to modernize complex codebases, improve software quality, remediate security issues, and enable AI coding agents to operate more effectively across large multi-repository environments.
The project is connected to a platform that helps engineering organizations analyze, transform, and modernize code at scale using deterministic automation, OpenRewrite recipes, semantic code intelligence, and AI agent workflows.
This is not a traditional support role.
It is a hands-on technical position where you’ll help execute modernization initiatives such as:Framework upgradesPlatform migrationsSecurity remediationCI/CD troubleshootingDependency managementCustom OpenRewrite recipesLarge-scale refactoring programsAI coding agent enablementDeveloper productivity and SDLC automation
