Instrumentation Designer

About the role

Lead instrumentation design activities and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for industrial projects.

Tasks

• Lead instrumentation design activities and coordinate with project execution teams.
• Develop instrument indexes, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, and cable routing layouts.
• Prepare control room and analyzer room layouts, analyzer panel designs, and instrument power distribution deliverables.
• Develop Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Perform 3D modeling using SP3D and participate in model review meetings.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications and global engineering standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design issues.
• Support instrumentation design strategies, project schedules, quality procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate project requirements, technical issues, and execution strategies effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Technical Diploma in Instrumentation.
• Hands-on experience developing instrumentation design deliverables, including wiring diagrams, cable schedules, hook-up drawings, layouts, and MTOs.
• Experience preparing control room and analyzer room layouts.
• Strong hands-on experience with SPI, SP3D, PDS, and MicroStation.
• Experience with industrial plant layouts and 3D model reviews.
• Ability to coordinate cable layouts and instrumentation deliverables with other engineering disciplines.
