Job description
Grupo Queyám is hiring a full-time Academic Economics Researcher in Ambato, Tungurahua, Ecuador. Join a collaborative academic environment where economic research and analysis contribute to knowledge and practical development in the field of economics. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct applied and theoretical economic research that advances knowledge in the discipline.
- Develop and apply econometric models to analyze economic data.
- Write academic papers and present findings at conferences and seminars.
- Collaborate with academics and professionals on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Manage research schedules and deliver work against deadlines and objectives.
- Help supervise undergraduate and graduate students conducting research projects.
- Contribute to funding proposals for research projects.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in economic research, preferably involving econometric models.
- Strong accounting and time-management skills.
- Excellent academic writing skills in Spanish.
- Experience with statistical and econometric software such as Stata, R, or similar tools.
- More than three years of academic or relevant industry research experience is preferred.
Work Environment
Work with research tools and software commonly used in economics. The team includes researchers and academics who collaborate regularly and report to a research director.
