Java Backend Engineer

About the role

Develop and scale the BotBrain Assistants platform, an enterprise AI assistant management platform.

The role focuses on scalable microservices, multi-LLM integration, reactive programming, multi-tenant architecture, and real-time communication across web and mobile applications.

Tasks

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java 17, Kotlin 1.9.25, and Spring Boot 3.5+.
• Build reactive, real-time AI chat services using Spring WebFlux, R2DBC, and Server-Sent Events (SSE).
• Design multi-tenant PostgreSQL database architecture, tenant isolation, and automated migrations using Flyway.
• Integrate multiple LLM providers, including Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, and LiteLLM.
• Develop MCP servers, AI tools, RAG workflows, and vector store integrations.
• Implement secure APIs using JWT, HMAC request signing, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Build cross-device synchronization, chat backup/restore, and secure file storage using AWS S3 and pre-signed URLs.
• Configure AWS Secrets Manager and implement monitoring, logging, and telemetry.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and Kotlin.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring WebFlux.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, JPA, Hibernate Envers, and R2DBC.
• Experience designing secure, multi-tenant backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS S3 and AWS Secrets Manager.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Micrometer, and Logstash.
• Experience with LLM integrations, MCP, RAG, and vector stores is highly relevant.
• Prior Verizon experience.
• H-1B visa only.
• Must be available to work onsite.
