Kafka Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Administrator to manage, maintain, monitor, and optimize Apache Kafka clusters in enterprise environments.

Tasks

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Kafka clusters across production and non-production environments.
• Manage brokers, topics, partitions, replication, consumer lag and cluster health.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting and production support.
• Configure high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication (ZooKeeper & KRaft).
• Implement Kafka security (SSL/TLS, SASL, ACLs).
• Work with Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker 2, Schema Registry (preferred).
• Use monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
• Provide root-cause analysis and ensure cluster reliability and availability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Apache Kafka cluster administration, installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Experience with Kafka security, including SSL/TLS, SASL, and ACLs.
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, ZooKeeper, and KRaft architecture.
• Experience with Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker 2, Prometheus, Grafana, Linux, and shell scripting is preferred.
• Local candidates only: Candidates must currently reside in the Denver, CO, or St. Louis, MO metropolitan area.
