Land Survey Crew Chief - Fort Lauderdale FL

About the role

Yoh has a full-time opportunity for a Survey Crew Chief to oversee survey operations for a Civil Engineering client. The role involves field operations, data collection, project documentation, equipment maintenance, and communication with the Assistant/Project Manager and team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations using Trimble, Leica, and Spectre robotic total stations, GPS RTK Units, and 3D Laser Scanners.
• Manage data collection and transfer in collaboration with office staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation and organize project files upon completion.
• Interpret maps, scale drawings, and decipher symbols to navigate projects.
• Guide the team with knowledge of survey types and their purposes.
• Communicate with the Assistant/Project Manager and team members about project needs.
• Maintain equipment to support optimal performance for each project.
• Take initiative to improve task efficiency and productivity.
• Use general computer applications to support surveying processes.
• Participate in training and educational initiatives.
• Work overtime and travel with overnight stays as project demands require.
• Contribute insights and creativity to team culture, innovation, and collaboration.
• Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of overall surveying experience and prior experience as a Crew Chief.
• Live within a commutable distance to the office in Fort Lauderdale, FL for an onsite environment.
