Large Market Business Developer – Washington, DC

The Godhood Group is hiring a Large Market Business Developer for a hybrid, full-time position based in Washington, DC. This mid-senior sales role is suited to an experienced benefits consulting professional with a record of developing large-market accounts.

About the role

Use your expertise in benefits consulting to build strategic relationships, grow the business, and help organizations address challenges across health, wealth, and career solutions. The portfolio focuses on large and jumbo organizations with 5,000 or more employees or at least $2 billion in revenue.

What you’ll do

• Manage a prospect list of approximately 40–50 large and jumbo organizations.
• Build relationships with prospect executives through referrals and regular engagement.
• Meet sales goals by winning large, high-value accounts.
• Develop persuasive proposals and RFP responses that reflect client needs and communicate Mercer’s value proposition.
• Create and execute strategic pursuit plans to expand market penetration with complex organizations.
• Lead large-account sales pursuits, from identifying client needs and negotiating terms to coordinating final presentations and contract signing.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
• At least 10 years of successful sales experience in the benefits consulting industry.
• Ability to clearly explain your sales funnel and methods for identifying, researching, and prospecting large and jumbo accounts.
• Knowledge or experience in large-market group health, retirement benefits, or HR consulting.
• Strong relationship-building, proposal development, and negotiation skills.
