This approach is reflected in the firm’s name: Business Law Partners.Role Description The Lawyer role at BLP is a full-time, on-site position based in Guatemala City. The Lawyer will provide legal advice and representation to clients across relevant practice areas, drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing opinions and memoranda, and supporting transactions and regulatory matters. The role involves managing client relationships, participating in negotiations, and collaborating with colleagues to develop practical, business-oriented legal strategies. The Lawyer will also assist in matter management, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to firm initiatives that enhance client service and legal innovation.Qualifications Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured documents and opinions.Experience in corporate, commercial, or business law, with the capacity to support transactions, regulatory compliance, and cross-border matters.Proficiency in client advisory and relationship management, including negotiation skills and a consultative, business-focused mindset.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish; professional proficiency in English is highly desirable.Law degree from an accredited institution and valid authorization to practice law in Guatemala.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently with a high level of professional integrity.Prior experience at a law firm or in-house legal department, particularly in Central America, is an advantage.Interest in continuous learning, staying current with legal and market developments, and contributing to innovative client solutions.
