Job description
About the role
A growing regional waste and recycling company in the Atlanta area is seeking a hands-on Lead Fleet Technician / Fleet Supervisor to help oversee maintenance operations across three local facilities.
This is a working leadership position.
Tasks
- Supervise and develop technicians while still being comfortable turning a wrench and jumping in on repairs when needed.
- Float between the company’s three Atlanta-area locations, helping prioritize repairs, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, manage preventive maintenance schedules, minimize equipment downtime, and ensure fleet readiness.
- Mentor technicians, coordinate workload between locations, assist with diagnostics and repairs, monitor parts and maintenance needs, maintain accurate service records, and promote a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Strong experience maintaining heavy-duty diesel equipment, preferably refuse trucks, roll-off trucks, front-loaders, rear-loaders, or similar vocational equipment.
- Previous lead technician, shop foreman, or fleet supervisory experience.
