Lead Structural Engineer

About the role

ACCO Engineered Systems is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to independently deliver engineering services from conceptual design through construction completion.

Responsibilities

• Complete project planning, coordination, and execution with some oversight.
• Develop conceptual designs and construction drawings for large, complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously.
• Engage engineering applications and managers in project decisions as appropriate.
• Communicate and coordinate designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.
• Assist with field engineering, project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem solving or troubleshooting as required.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and project team members, and manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
• Apply ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes.
• Prepare equipment anchorage calculations and PE wet-stamped installation packages, including BOM.
• Prepare equipment vibration isolation calculations and PE wet-stamped installation packages, including BOM.
• Design rooftop duct and pipe supports and prepare PE-stamped installation packages, including BOM.
• Design riser duct and pipe supports, and prepare seismic restraint calculations for duct and pipe.
• Verify existing roof structures for equipment replacement.
• Design equipment skids and supplemental steel for equipment, duct, or pipe supports, including BOM.
• Create templates and standard designs for supports, attachments, and seismic bracing to provide cost-effective installation and construction at scale.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license is highly desirable, but not required. Must be able to obtain one within a short period.
