Job description

Job Requirements: • Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program and must have Georgia G-5 certification, or be able to obtain certification within 6 months. • Two years of progressively responsible library experience. • Proficiency using Google Suite and specialized library software (PINES) to perform work-related tasks. • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to use independent judgment and discretion. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. • Ability to organize work and be self-directed. • Ability to train and provide work direction to others. • Ability to meet schedules and timelines. • Ability to interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. • Valid Driver’s License Job Duties: • Performs varied supervisory, operational, and administrative duties, on a day-to-day basis, as required. • Recommends library service improvements. • Identifies opportunities to improve customer experience and acts on them. • Assists staff and management in facilitating library projects and programs. • May represent the library at community events. • May attend public meetings to support management on library projects, proposals and activities. • Prepares and maintains records and reports of varied monthly, special and annual reports; follows up on assignments to determine progress and date of completion of projects. • Attends training and conferences as required or assigned; actively participates on committees and teams as directed; navigates change well. • Works the hours and/or shifts assigned and begins and ends work on time. • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
