Light Duty Diesel Technician

Southwest Truck and RV is seeking a dedicated Light Duty Diesel Technician with 5 years plus epxerience to join our dynamic team in Prescott, Arizona. Pay: $28 to $40/hr + Commission DOE $1500 signing bonus, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. No weekends. 11 paid holidays. Health insurance. Locally owned. Paid vacation. Paid training. ASE certification training and certificate reimbursement. Hourly plus Commission based pay program. Must be proficient in Light Duty Diesel Automotive diagnostics and repairs on Powerstroke, Duramax, & Cummins. Must have experience with all components on vehicles from injector replacement and turbochargers to clutch replacement and brakes. Must have working knowledge of Aftertreatment systems, HVAC systems, Hydraulic Brakes, Fuel systems, Steering and Suspension, Electrical systems and overall understanding of all vehicle systems. Must be efficient with time management, must be dependable and possess the required tools to perform duties listed. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot light-duty diesel engine issues while utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicing. Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair options, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs. Document all services performed and parts used in service records, maintaining accurate logs for compliance and reporting. Collaborate with colleagues to complete repair projects effectively and efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations affecting diesel vehicle maintenance. Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a learning environment. Required and Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Strong mechanical skills with a focus on diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. Proficient in troubleshooting various light-duty diesel engines and related systems. Exceptional customer service aptitude, with a friendly and professional demeanor. Experience with industry-standard software and diagnostic tools. 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician required.
