Job description
This position is for a Locksmith located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, offering a contract employment type. The role involves working in a hands-on environment where the focus is on developing locksmithing skills while providing valuable customer service. As a Locksmith you will have the opportunity to impact the community by ensuring the security and accessibility of properties through your work. We provide free training for technicians that contract with us. Training is free but unpaid.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Pay is per job.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, repairing, and replacing locks and other security devices.
- Learn and apply locksmithing techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns.
- Conduct assessments of client needs to recommend appropriate locksmithing solutions.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Document work performed and manage inventory of locksmith supplies.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems related to lock installations and repairs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- A valid Drivers license.
- a reliable vehicle.
- The tools needed for the trade or the means to purchase the tools needed.
- Open availability including weekends.
- Pass a background check.
- Familiarity with locksmithing techniques and basic mechanical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Prior experience or training in a related field is preferred but not required.
The role may work closely with experienced locksmiths, forming a collaborative team environment where new skills are developed and knowledge is shared.
Reporting relationships will involve working under the supervision of a lead locksmith who will guide your training and development in the field.
Cross-functional collaboration may occur with local businesses and property owners to ensure security needs are met, fostering relationships within the community.
