Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

V&S Galvanizing has over 100 years of experience in hot dip galvanizing and is a leader in the steel coating industry. The company operates over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S. This Maintenance Supervisor position is at the V&S Columbus North Galvanizing facility in Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee the flow of maintenance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment throughout the plant.
• Inspect and perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• Perform building repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Perform hydraulic, motor, and electrical maintenance, repair, and upkeep.
• Clean tools, equipment, machinery, and work areas.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Perform and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and logs.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Previous management positions that include staff supervision.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the steel industry or protective industrial coatings is a plus.
• Tolerant of hot and cold environments.
• Ability to reach, bend, push, and pull.
• Availability to be on call outside of the scheduled shift; some weekend work may be required at times.
• Experience operating and maintaining overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus.
