Role Description The Manager of Oncology Clinical Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in the metropolitan area, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of oncology outpatient clinical operations across several outpatient clinics.
This role manages daily operational activities including patient workflows, visit scheduling, call center, patient navegation, medical record interphase, health insurance processes, chemotherapies and infusion center activities. The Manager leads and supports clinical staff, ensuring consistent implementation of procedures, high-quality patient care, and compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations. The position collaborates closely with medical oncologists, clinicians, investigators, pharmacists, research coordinators, and external partners to resolve operational issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with ethical, institutional, and regulatory standards. The Manager also contributes to continuous process improvement, resource planning, and performance metrics to support successful outcomes.
Qualifications Demonstrated experience in oncology clinical operations, patient management, clinic coordination, and protocol implementation.Strong knowledge of clinical outpatient operations including understanding of electronic medical records, infusion centers, health care state and federal regulationsProven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor clinical staff, delegate responsibilities, and foster a collaborative environment.Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management abilities, including prioritizing multiple studies and meeting deadlines.High level of attention to detail and quality, with experience in monitoring data accuracy, preparing reports, and maintaining documentation.Effective written and verbal communication skills in a clinical setting; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly advantageous.Ability to work on-site in the San Juan metropolitan area, engaging directly with patients and staff, and maintain professional, empathetic interactions with individuals facing serious illnesses.Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in Healthcare Administration.Previous experience in oncology, hematology, or related therapeutic areas, is a plus.
