Job description

About the role

Boom Supersonic is building the Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower gas turbine. This role will build the system that makes inspection credible, repeatable, and scalable.

The work involves forged titanium blisks with unforgiving tolerances, inertia-welded drive shafts, and single crystal turbine blades. You will own challenging manufacturing problems and take responsibility for real scope from day one.

Boom Supersonic is developing Superpower, a natural gas turbine for next-generation AI data centers. The manufacturing problems do not have playbooks; you will write them.

Responsibilities

  • Own a defined piece of the manufacturing operation, such as engine assembly, machining, or tooling.
  • Build a system that makes inspection credible, repeatable, and scalable.
  • Take ownership of manufacturing problems and be accountable for the outcome.

Requirements

  • Have done something extraordinary early, such as independently building real hardware, leading a competition team that competed, or completing internship work most engineers do not see for years.
  • Love building and want to work long, smart, and hard to create things with real impact.
  • Want ownership, feel energized by harder problems, and are uncomfortable waiting for someone else to find the answer.
  • Find the shop floor more interesting than a conference room.
