Marine Dispatcher – Fleet Terminal | Corpus Christi, TX

About the Role

Sflgroup is hiring a detail-oriented Marine Dispatcher for its fleet terminal operations team in Corpus Christi, Texas. Coordinate barge and vessel movements, dispatch towboats, and communicate with vessel crews and facility personnel to support safe, efficient fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule barge movements into and out of the fleet terminal.
• Dispatch towboats and relay movement instructions to vessel crews.
• Track barge locations, fleet inventory, and vessel activity accurately.
• Communicate with terminal staff, dock operations, and customers to support timely barge handling.
• Update scheduling software, operational logs, and daily reports.
• Follow applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for fleet activity during assigned shifts.
• Adjust operating plans in response to weather, traffic, and customer needs.

Requirements

• Dispatch, logistics, or marine operations experience preferred; fleet or barge industry experience strongly desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Computer proficiency, including scheduling or logistics software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Availability for a rotating 4-days-on, 4-days-off schedule with day and night shifts.
• Valid TWIC Card required.
• Comfort working in an office with frequent phone and radio communication, handling extended shifts and rotating schedules, and occasionally working outdoors in marine environments with operations staff.
