Job description
A high-end home improvement and landscaping business is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to keep residential projects moving in Lynchburg, Virginia. You will lead by example, follow the owner's instructions, and direct crew members when the owner is in meetings or working in the office.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily job-site work and keep crew members productive.
- Communicate clear instructions to workers and follow project direction.
- Plan ahead and notify the owner about tools, materials, or potential issues before they cause delays.
- Lay out roof rafters and stair stringers.
- Deliver detail-oriented work and take pride in craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- Lead carpentry experience and the ability to direct a crew.
- Knowledge of roof rafter and stair stringer layout.
- Own tool belt, hand tools, and reliable transportation.
- Trustworthy, attentive to detail, and able to anticipate job-site needs.
- Provide at least three references, or be willing to begin at a lower wage and demonstrate your skills before negotiating pay.
- Veterans are preferred; infantry and SOCOM experience are especially preferred.
