Mechanic Assembler

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for safely assembling equipment by following detailed instructions from supervisors and Group Leaders. These assemblies vary in size and product while requiring the use of a variety of mechanical, electrical, and manual tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics into JLG/Jerr products utilizing hydraulic and/or equipment and/or connections
• Install various JLG/Jerr and product accessories (decals, hand flags, canards, lights, etc.)
• Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place
• Use hand and pneumatic tools accurately such as wrenches, hammers, torque guns, etc.
• Use common measuring tools accurately such as a tape measure drill and/or tap hole fixtures, hoses, and small parts
• Determine options needed for units based on schematics/blueprints/standard work instructions
• Lift and stack components/subassemblies and parts up to 35 lbs and lift and move parts up to 60 lbs
• Train and work in various areas of assembly in response to production demands
• Follow verbal and written work instructions
• Attend and participate in training as required
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Work in accordance with company standards and all other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing or general labor industry

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
• On-the-job training

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:
Frequent Standing, Walking, Reaching, Hearing, Talking, Using Acetate/Limbing (Sitting?), Sitting, Lifting/Carrying up to 35 lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs and up to 30lbs sustained.
Non-Physical Demands:
Organizational/Analytical/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Calculation, Reading, Understanding.

Environmental Demands:
Occupational: Frequent Asked Changes, Tedium/Exacting Work, Dust, Temperature Extremes, Loud Noises, Heavy Equipment and Trucks Operating in Immediate Area

Work Schedule:
Routine shift hours: frequent overtime
