Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Medical Interpreters (Spanish-English) providing Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services. The Medical Interpreter will facilitate clear, accurate, and confidential communication between healthcare professionals and patients in a variety of clinical and administrative settings. Daily responsibilities include interpreting medical consultations in real time, supporting informed consent discussions, and assisting with scheduling, follow-up calls, and other health-related interactions. The role requires consistent adherence to ethical standards, privacy regulations, and company protocols, as well as accurate documentation of assignments and active participation in ongoing training. Medical Interpreters will collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and a positive experience for all parties.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with experience in Spanish-English communication in healthcare settings.Candidates should possess solid Medical Terminology knowledge, including common clinical, diagnostic, and treatment vocabulary in both Spanish and English.Candidates should possess proficiency in Translation and written language support when required for patient materials or clinical documents.Candidates should possess Simultaneous Interpretation capabilities for fast-paced medical encounters and urgent communications.Candidates should possess excellent listening, speaking, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality.Candidates should possess familiarity with HIPAA or equivalent patient privacy regulations and professional interpreter ethics.Candidates should possess reliable high-speed internet, a quiet remote workspace, and comfort working with OPI/VRI platforms and basic computer tools.Candidates should possess prior experience as a medical or community interpreter; relevant certifications, training, or coursework in interpreting or translation are highly beneficial.
