Job description
About the role
The Membership Development & Services Specialist will work closely with the Director of Membership to grow and strengthen American Sportfishing Association’s membership. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys talking with people, building relationships, solving problems, and helping businesses understand the value of belonging to the sportfishing industry association.
The specialist will contact prospective and current members in person, by phone and email; support membership recruitment and renewal campaigns; assist with member onboarding; maintain accurate membership records; and respond to member questions. The role also provides membership-related support for ASA events, including ICAST, the Sportfishing Summit, and the Keep America Fishing Fly-In.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research prospective members across the recreational fishing industry.
- Conduct regular outreach to prospective members by telephone and email.
- Clearly communicate ASA’s membership benefits, programs, advocacy work, events, and industry value.
- Follow up with prospective members, answer questions, and assist them through the application process.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospective members and document outreach.
- Support membership recruitment and renewal campaigns, member onboarding, and member services.
- Maintain accurate membership records and respond to member questions.
- Provide membership-related support for ASA events.
