Your new companyA leading general contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection operations on a large-scale education project in Charlotte, NC. This role requires someone with strong tenure, a proven track record managing large‑scale MEP packages, and the ability to coordinate complex systems on fast‑paced projects.
Your new roleMEP field oversight — Lead daily onsite supervision of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection tradesSchedule coordination — Maintain and update MEP schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project milestonesQuality control — Enforce installation standards, specifications, and code complianceSubcontractor management — Direct and coordinate all MEP subcontractors and vendorsSafety enforcement — Ensure all MEP activities follow site safety protocolsProblem resolution — Identify and resolve field conflicts, design discrepancies, and installation issuesProgress reporting — Provide daily and weekly updates to project leadershipSystem commissioning support — Assist with testing, startup, and turnover of all MEP systems
What you'll need to succeedMEP superintendent experience on large commercial or institutional projectsDemonstrated success managing $30M+ MEP scopesStrong tenure with previous employers (stable work history)Deep understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing systems, and fire protectionAbility to read and interpret complex MEP drawings and specificationsProficiency in coordinating with project managers, engineers, and field teamsStrong communication and leadership skills
