The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning's Millennium Challenge Compact Development Team, is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Mining Governance Director. This is a unique opportunity to help develop Liberia's proposed second Millennium Challenge Compact, focusing on strengthening mining governance, supporting critical mineral exploration, attracting responsible private investment, and improving the laws, policies, institutions, and systems governing the mining sector.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Government of Liberia (GoL) is currently developing a second Compact with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to address "electricity for critical industries" as a binding constraint to economic growth and poverty reduction. A proposed Compact concept note also focuses on improvement in mining governance, facilitating exploration and new investment in the sector, with particular attention to critical minerals that are increasingly important for global supply chains, energy transition, and industrial development.
