About the role
Credit Union of Georgia is looking for a Mortgage Loan Officer with a focus on construction loans to join its team in Cherokee County. The role drives loan production through relationship-based sales and business development, and helps members achieve their financial goals.
The Construction Loan Officer originates residential construction loans for builders and individual borrowers, serving as the credit union’s primary point of contact throughout the construction process. The role manages each project from structuring and underwriting through funding and administration to certificate of occupancy, within established policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with home builders, general contractors, realtors, title companies, and real estate attorneys to generate construction loan opportunities.
- Originate construction loans for builders’ spec and pre-sold projects and for end-user borrowers, including construction-to-permanent and stand-alone construction loans.
- Represent Credit Union of Georgia at community events, builder associations, home shows, and Chamber functions to build brand awareness and generate new member relationships.
- Conduct consultative sales conversations with prospective borrowers and builders to understand project goals, assess financing needs, and present financing options.
- Manage project draw schedules, budget tracking, and collateral protection within established policies and guidelines.
