Network Engineer - Leading Quantitative Hedge Fund - London

About the role

Mondrian Alpha's client, a leading quantitative hedge fund, is seeking a Network Engineer to join its growing Systems Infrastructure Team. The role involves hands-on network design, implementation and operations across the firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead network engineering initiatives across the firm.
• Manage counterparty integrations and support new office buildouts.
• Expand cloud networking capabilities within AWS and optimize networks across global operations.
• Maintain and evolve routing, switching and firewall infrastructure.
• Develop automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve network architecture, infrastructure resilience, security and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues independently and collaborate with security, infrastructure and wider technology teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in a network and/or network security role.
• Strong hands-on experience in network and network security engineering, including routing, switching, firewall systems and cloud networking architectures.
• Experience with AWS and proficiency in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Ability to demonstrate work designing network infrastructure improvements, implementing security controls, optimizing cloud networking environments, or introducing network automation and monitoring.
• Technical curiosity, a proactive approach and comfort troubleshooting complex issues independently.
