The person in this role will review, edit, and approve news articles, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring news stories, reporting accurately, refining headlines, and mmonitoring online social media content such as facebook, tic tok and others, and maintaining a consistent editorial voice across platforms. The News Editor will collaborate with media sources, journalists, and new media specialists to shape coverage priorities, manage deadlines, and respond to breaking news. This role also involves fact-checking, monitoring sources, and providing constructive feedback to strengthen overall content quality. Ideally the candidate will have social media expertise and be able to be an integral part of launching the visual media part of the company.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong News Writing and Writing skills for clear, concise, and engaging content, in both English and SpanishCandidates should possess Journalism and Editorial skills to oversee story development, accuracy, and ethical standards.Candidates should possess New Media skills to work effectively with digital platforms, social media, and online publishing tools.Excellent command of English, including grammar, style, and tone, with strong attention to detail and fact-checking.Experience in a newsroom or editorial environment, preferably in news, current affairs, or international reporting.Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize stories, and make sound editorial decisions under time pressure.Proficiency with content management systems and basic analytics tools is beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
