About the role
Global Shipping Services is hiring an Ocean Operations Specialist to coordinate ocean import and export shipments.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ocean import and export shipments and monitor shipment milestones.
- Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, truckers, customs brokers, and customers.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation.
- Track vessel schedules, containers, deliveries, and deadlines.
- Resolve operational issues and keep customers informed.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and billing information.
Requirements
- Two or more years of ocean freight forwarding experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FCL/LCL shipments and ocean freight documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Experience with CargoWise software is a plus.
