About the role

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time OPTOMETRIST to join our exceptional team in Miami.

You will work alongside leading ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals.

Tasks

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations to identify vision concerns, eye diseases, and manifestations of systemic health conditions
• Evaluate visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, eye coordination, and focusing abilities
• Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to optimize visual outcomes
• Provide vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation services.
• Interpret diagnostic findings and develop effective treatment strategies
• Administer diagnostic medications and prescribe therapeutic drugs for the management of select eye conditions
• Deliver preoperative and postoperative patient care with compassion and clinical excellence
• Uphold University and departmental policies while safeguarding institutional resources

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree required
• Active State of Florida Optometrist License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience
