Road Maintenance Worker (Contract) – Acornhoek, Mpumalanga

SANPARKS is hiring a contract Road Maintenance Worker in Acornhoek, Mpumalanga, South Africa. This on-site role supports the maintenance, safety, and usability of public roads. The position suits physically fit candidates who work well in a team and follow safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general road maintenance to support safe, usable roadways.
• Assist with cleaning and operational support on maintenance projects.
• Follow established safety procedures while completing work.
• Report road conditions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate progress or challenges.
• Support additional operational duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Grade 10 or Grade 12, or equivalent; this is advantageous.
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of outdoor maintenance work.
• Ability to reliably follow safety procedures.
• General maintenance skills and willingness to provide operational support.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment and Reporting

This physically demanding, on-site contract position involves working with a team on road maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will report to maintenance supervisors and coordinate with colleagues and other teams to support safe, effective operations.

Pay and Employment
