Job description
About the role
Zu is seeking an outreach phlebotomist to collect and handle laboratory samples at outreach centers and contractual partner facilities, and to provide home sampling when assigned. The role also includes order entry, receiving payments, sample labeling and disposal, and other tasks related to outreach services.
Responsibilities
- Collect samples from outreach contractual partners, follow daily visit schedules and on-call assignments, receive payment when needed, and handle, label and dispose of samples according to the daily checklist.
- Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples at outreach centers.
- Provide phlebotomy services to contractual clients when required and transport pre-collected samples after the required staff have checked them.
- Finalize reports with the relevant department and forward them to patients as required, including hard copies. Resolve departmental queries related to samples.
- Provide patients with receipts and working reports in response to their complaints and reports generated during their visit.
- Handle one assignment at a time during duty hours, such as home sample collection, work at an outreach center, or collection and phlebotomy at a contractual client.
- Match prescribed or referred tests with their documents and the history required for patient labeling and sample handling.
