Job Overview
A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with a background in mechanical or aerospace engineering to join their patent prosecution and counseling group in Los Angeles, CA. The candidate should have one to three years of patent prosecution experience at the USPTO or in a law firm setting.
DutiesConduct patent prosecution and counseling.Collaborate with a team of patent strategists and litigators.Advise clients on intellectual property portfolio management.Engage in legal research and analysis.
RequirementsOne to three years of patent prosecution experience.Minimum of two years of legal practice experience.Excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills.Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant bar.
EducationJuris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
CertificationsPTO registration preferred.
SkillsStrong analytical ability.Experience as a patent examiner preferred.Industry experience is a plus.
