Patient Care Assistant - Telemetry

About the role

Saint Francis Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for its Telemetry department. The schedule is per diem, as needed, with 12-hour shifts. The facility is Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Illinois-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Current phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
• At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
