Job description
Nexa Staffing Solutions is hiring a Pediatric Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Boston, Massachusetts. This part-time opportunity offers $50 per hour, with per diem and bundle opportunities available.
Position Summary
Provide safe, competent, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate pediatric patients throughout care.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge care.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Promote patient safety, comfort, and family-centered care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least one year of RN work experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Must meet facility background screening, health screening, and onboarding requirements. Additional vaccination or testing requirements may apply under facility policy.
