Job description
About the role
We study what models represent internally, how that information surfaces in their outputs, where disconnects happen, and whether the right early training foundations can prevent them.
Tasks
- Probing representations, training models from scratch to study how early learning shapes reliability, building controlled synthetic settings, and analyzing model behavior across conditions and scales.
Requirements
- Are pursuing a PhD in ML, NLP, computational linguistics, cognitive science, or a related field
- Care deeply about experimental rigor: the right hypotheses, controls, and metrics
- Are comfortable with PyTorch, Hugging Face, and running experiments at scale
- Have published (or are on track to publish) at NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, or similar venues
- Bonus: experience training language models from scratch or designing pre-training data pipelines
